Charleston Newspapers seeks part-time and seasonal Inserters for Mailroom Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing quality work in all areas of the Department. Must assemble and route various types of printed material into the newspaper by performing various duties as may be needed on an assembly line. This includes feeding, stacking, moving, etc. pre-printed inserts as they are coming off the press. Must be able to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends. Job duties will require regular lifting of various printed materials, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., and continuous reaching for printed materials during production runs. All job duties require standing. Must have basic math skills in order to count zones. Assembly line experience not required, training provided.
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, and have an excellent attendance record, clean criminal background, be able to read, and write.

Drivers are trained to perform a number of jobs, ranging from delivering newspaper bundles along a specific route for carriers to pick up, to servicing our vending machines and newsstand accounts. Our vehicles range from small pickups to extended vans to large trucks, and drivers are trained on each vehicle. This position is primarily night shift with varying work times.
Drivers must be able to repeatedly lift bundles weighing up to thirty pounds, and be able to enter and exit a vehicle many times each shift, walk and carry bundles, and access places which may not meet ADA requirements.
Hours average 30 to 40 a week. Prior driving experience of large vehicles required. You must have a good driving record and be able to pass a drug screening.
