MAILROOM INSERTER

Posted 2014-06-22 If you dread the idea of sitting behind a desk all day, our mailroom might be just the job for you. Employees on this team are responsible for pulling together newspapers, putting in inserts, and making certain that our close to 40,000 papers per shift are in perfect condition.

Starting pay is $7.25 per hour averaging 25-35 hours of shift work per week. Shift work involves three weeks day shift then three weeks night shift. You must be able to work every Saturday night while on night shift. Charleston Newspapers is a drug free workplace.

RELIEF MANAGER

Posted 2014-06-23 Charleston Newspapers has an immediate opening for a Circulation Relief Manager. Relief Managers are responsible for home delivery of the Charleston Gazette, The Charleston Daily Mail, Saturday Gazette Mail, and the Sunday Gazette-Mail within assigned districts.

Duties include helping District Managers deliver newspaper routes. Good communication skills are required, as are a strong customer service ethic, clean driving record and a positive attitude.

Charleston Newspapers offers a 401k savings plan to part time employees. Weekend and nights are mandatory. About 35 hours a week, and a company car is provided during work hours. There’s opportunity for OVERTIME and career advancement. Must be able to pass a drug test.

DRIVER

Come join an experienced team of drivers at Charleston Newspapers.

Drivers are trained to perform a number of jobs, ranging from delivering newspaper bundles along a specific route for carriers to pick up, to servicing our vending machines and newsstand accounts. Our vehicles range from small pickups to extended vans to large trucks, and drivers are trained on each vehicle. This position is primarily night shift with varying work times.

Drivers must be able to repeatedly lift bundles weighing up to thirty pounds, and be able to enter and exit a vehicle many times each shift, walk and carry bundles, and access places which may not meet ADA requirements.

Hours average 30 to 40 a week. Prior driving experience of large vehicles required. You must have a good driving record and be able to pass a drug screening.

ASSISTANT DOCK SUPERVISOR

Posted 2014-06-24 Responsible for overseeing drivers when the Dock Supervisor is off duty or as otherwise directed, ensuring that they are delivering the correct amount of papers to each location and in a timely fashion, and for making sure that each vehicle is properly equipped for safe driving.

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
