Charleston Newspapers has an immediate opening for a Circulation Relief Manager. Relief Managers are responsible for home delivery of the Charleston Gazette, The Charleston Daily Mail, Saturday Gazette Mail, and the Sunday Gazette-Mail within assigned districts.
Duties include helping District Managers deliver newspaper routes. Good communication skills are required, as are a strong customer service ethic, clean driving record and a positive attitude.
Charleston Newspapers offers a 401k savings plan to part time employees. Weekend and nights are mandatory. About 35 hours a week, and a company car is provided during work hours. There’s opportunity for OVERTIME and career advancement. Must be able to pass a drug test.

Drivers are trained to perform a number of jobs, ranging from delivering newspaper bundles along a specific route for carriers to pick up, to servicing our vending machines and newsstand accounts. Our vehicles range from small pickups to extended vans to large trucks, and drivers are trained on each vehicle. This position is primarily night shift with varying work times.
Drivers must be able to repeatedly lift bundles weighing up to thirty pounds, and be able to enter and exit a vehicle many times each shift, walk and carry bundles, and access places which may not meet ADA requirements.
Hours average 30 to 40 a week. Prior driving experience of large vehicles required. You must have a good driving record and be able to pass a drug screening.

As the Programmer, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and maintain applications supporting Charleston Newspapers advertising and business processes. With the assistance from senior team members, you will work with various business units within Charleston Newspapers to elicit requirements and then translate those requirements into the design, structure, and efficient operation of a newspaper advertising order entry and billing system software.
Participate in the development and maintenance of the software application
Assist in the continuous improvement of the software systems
Create/update system documentation to support Users and Software Developers
Assist in trouble shooting technical issues with other team members and the users of the software systems

Working knowledge of a modern programming language such as C# or VB.Net is a plus
Development experience with Crystal Reports is a plus
