you to join us for an exciting opportunity to “Meet The Press”

Location: Charleston Town Center Mall
Third Level, Food Court
Event Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Your
students will have the opportunity to meet award-winning newspaper personalities,
including reporters, photographers and editors. “Meet The Press” will provide a
casual yet engaging venue for students interested in exploring the many career
opportunities available in the newspaper industry.
This
event will be much more than just the first field trip of the 2006-2007 school year.
The
News Staff welcomes and encourages your students to bring prepared, thoughtful
and challenging questions about “what it takes” to get information into the
hands of thousands of readers daily.
Charleston
Newspapers will be accepting essays from students during the event. There will
be a high school as well as college category.
The essay entries should meet the following criteria:
Scenario:
State Board of Tourism promotion
Theme: West
Virginia, Wild & Wonderful, How So?
Length: 500 words, approximately
One
winner from each category will be chosen by the News Staff and Newspaper In
Education Coordinator. The winning entries will be published in the Sunday
Gazette-Mail. Every student that submits an essay will be automatically
registered to win a $25.00 gift card to the Charleston Town Center Mall.
